What Causes Gouty Arthritis?
Gouty arthritis attacks more men than women, though women usually come down with gout only after menopause.
Gout develops from a build-up of uric acid in the blood, eventually concentrating in the joints. Once in the joints, the uric acid solidifies into what’s called gout crystals. Under a microscope you can see these hardened crystals are like needles. these sharp needles are what make gout attacks so excruciatingly painful.
Most gout symptom attacks are sudden and give no clue or warning, also called acute gout pain. Normally gout attacks the feet, ankles, knees and sometimes the hands and wrists.
The most commonplace gout pain attacks are in the big toe.
Sometimes the infected area may be diagnosed as a form of bursitis.
Actually, the gout causes the bursitis, which is an inflammation that spreads to the fluid sacs, which normally act as cushions in the elbow and knee.
These gout crystals come from an acidic state that overwhelms the kidneys. You can have a dangerous build-up of acidic waste and never get gout. However, an acidic body will eventually trigger chronic inflammation, the major cause of degenerative and age-related diseases.
Here are some factors that can trigger uric acid build-up:
- Obesity
- Alcohol consumption
- Seafood, pork and meat organs
- Under-nutrition
- Aspirin use
- Niacin use
- Diuretic medicines
- Immune suppressants
- Dehydration
- High blood pressure
- Lead poisoning
- Hypothyroidism
- Kidney failure
- Psoriasis
- Tumors
Ignoring your gout symptoms is the most dangerous thing you can do.
An acidic environment can lead to all kinds of health problems, so rather than popping pills that burden your kidneys more and cause an even higher level of acid in your body, its best you seek a natural, proven remedy, such as eating foods that neutralize acid. These are called alkalizing foods, which are just about anything that’s green.
Eating raw vegetables and drinking naturally alkaline water are the fastest way to cleanse your body of uric acid and stop gout pain.
Remember, your looking for a cure. If you think treating gout symptoms will help, you’ll find your gout attacks coming back with a vengeance.
Be careful!
